Aaaahhhhh....Uhm... yeah... You might want to actually just stay within Mac
OS 9.1 if you're serious about getting work done? I honestly don't think
that OS X could be responsible for what you're experiencing, but considering
all the whacky stuff about that non-OS, I'd play it safe.
Go into OS 9.1, back your stuff up, get a new drive.
