I would keep the fields separate,  one for text and one for pics. Then what
you do is create custom layouts so the pics appear in the article the way
you want them to. FMP, though not a page layout program like In Design etc,
has some pretty flexible controls to allow you to create layouts that
present the data the way you want it.
