There are five Macs in my household and my iBook is the only one that has
this problem, as far as I'm aware. We all run much the same thing, except
that I have GPG software installed. We all follow the same maintenance
schedule (Cron tasks etc) and use our computers in a very similar way
(including shutting down at night). As well as my iBook being the only one
to have this text problem it also is the only one that has a problem with
the software for our USB HP scanner. Why that should be I really don't know.
What I do know is that I'm not the only one with these problems but how we
get to a point where we can really compare systems along with usage I really
don't know. Perhaps this is the next stage in the evolution of software,
working out a reporting system for faults that would actually give a more
accurate picture of what's going on. Perhaps Dan's got a take on whether
this would actually be possible, and useful?
