Here's what I'm thinking:

The user who us upgrading must have full read/write permissions on their
Office install to run the updater. If they do not, then they may find that
the Microsoft Component Plugin (MCP) has been moved to the Trash and Office
has not been updated. To recover, drag MCP back.

Just a thought.
