I just ran across this with my boss. He installed Office while logged in as root originally (not my fault). When he ran the updater (as himself this time...) it started updating files and then puked right after moving the Microsoft Component Plugin to the Trash. At this point the Office installation is worthless because none of the apps will run without that file. The solution for us was to change the ownership of the Microsoft Office X folder to his username so that he could delete it: sudo chown -R username /Applications/Microsoft\ Office\ X Then run the Remove Office tool, re-drag the Office folder off the installation CD and apply the updates. -Remo Del Bello -- When an agnostic dies, does he go to the "great perhaps"? -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:Entourage-Talk-Off@;lists.letterrip.com> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
