Deborah and Geoff:

This could be a problem with the SMTP server at your ISPs. One function of
SMTP is the confirmation message at the end. If the client and the server
can't agree that an item has been sent, it is requeued and resent. So it
this is the case, your mail would stay in your outbox and be sent over and
over again. Is that happening?

You may want to change your encoding method. If it is not Base64, try
changing it. For Entourage X:

Entourage menu > Mail & News Preferences > Compose > Attachments >
    Encode for: Windows (MIME/Base64)

This is something your ISP can check on. If possible, send one of these
message while you're on the line with them. If not, note the exact date and
time you sent the mail and, if possible, your IP address. They should be
able to look up the transaction in their SMTP server logs and see what
happened.

Also remember that if your account is IMAP, you probably have two "Sent"
folders, on on your local machine and one on the server. I don't know which
one Entourage uses in this case, but check both.
