Hi Beth, I cannot find where I read that the Account ID should be set to the full e-mail address. I checked the default settings in EarthLink TotalAccess 2003 by retrieving a new profile on my machine. It did indeed set the Mail settings to use just the username as the Account ID. I think I might have set it up using the full e-mail address since the original documentation I received didn't include what to input for the Account ID.
However, I did check the documentation and indeed, I was instructed to set the receiving mail (POP) server to "pop.earthlink.net". Actually, the software now sets the default sending mail (SMTP) server to "smtpauth.earthlink.net" (requiring authentication), but the original documentation instructed me to input "smtp.earthlink.net", and that is what I still have set up. It continues to work adequately. It sounds like there are multiple possible setups that work. The servers I mentioned are simply the ones I was provided and the ones that I know work.
