Since these messages are being passed off to IE, you might look there for the source of the problem. Background info: Basically, it's like this. If the sender is sending a really fancy email that includes tables or other things Entourage can't do, or includes internally URLs of web page that needs to be viewed, it will force Internet Explorer engine to render the message. So if it has an animated GIF as well, it will be viewable as such. But if it is otherwise just a regular HTML message with text formatting and some graphics, Entourage will render it itself, and the GIF will not animate - you'll see just the first frame. One of the consequences of Entourage being able to handle more varieties of graphics, including _inserted graphics_ since Entourage X SR-1 is that fewer HTML messages get passed to IE so fewer will show animated GIFs. The short answer - there's no way to view them in most messages, and nothing you can do about if they don't.
