Database Daemon does not launch Entourage. It shouldn't make any difference. (On the other hand, if you see TWO of these, it means you have some other copy or version of Office around.) It's more likely that you'll find some copy of Entourage listed in System Preferences/Accounts/Login Items. Go there, select it, and click the "-" button at the bottom to remove it. (You'll probably see the Microsoft Database Daemon there too. One copy is fine, but just in case it's the _wrong one_, remove it too. If and when you get around to launching Entourage normally, Database Daemon will reappear here. That's fine - it will be the right one. If you see TWO of them here, remove both.) If you find some other application - an AppleScript app related to Entourage, especially - remove that too.
Chances are you have a copy of the Office 2004 Test Drive around. If you don't find anything in Login Items, then I'd advise you to go to Remove Office in the Additional Tools folder in Microsoft Office 2004 folder, and run it, removing _all_ copies of Office that it finds. Then reinstall 2004 from the CD, then do the updates to 11.2.5 then 11.2.6, from Help/Check for Updates in any Office app (or by launching the Microsoft AutoUpdate app manually). -- Paul Berkowitz > From: Beth Rosengard <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Reply-To: "Entourage:mac Talk" <[email protected]> > Date: Sun, 13 Aug 2006 10:53:14 -0700 > To: "Entourage:mac Talk" <[email protected]> > Conversation: Entourage keeps launching itself! > Subject: Re: Entourage keeps launching itself! > > Just a guess but ... quit out of all Office apps and open Activity Monitor. > Look for and Quit all instances of the Database Daemon (not the Microsoft AU > Daemon).
