Title: Re: WAS: Tracking sent messages IS: Office crashes
Hi Janice

Sometimes when Office doesn’t work properly, it’s because the Preference files become corrupted, and tossing them will make all applications within the package revert to their defaults. You may have to reset some settings you made, but it should work.

Try this, after quitting all Microsoft apps:
go to your hard drive > Users > home > Library > Preferences > and put anything that says ’com.microsoft.(ANYTHING) on the desktop (for now), as well as the folder named ‘Microsoft.’

When you re-open any of the Office apps, it’ll take a little longer because it’s re-setting the defaults, but things should work better.

Also, upgrading to the newer Office 2004 wouldn’t be a bad idea.

As a side note, you may want to ‘Repair Permissions’:
open your Applications folder > Utilities > Disk Utility > select the name of your haard drive, and click on ‘Repair Disk Permissions.’ This is a good thing to do periodically, anyway.

Good luck!

========================================

I have ibook dual usb using os x 10.4.4 with office x

Often when I try to quit a Microsoft Office v. X program, such as Microsoft Word X for Mac, Microsoft Entourage X for Mac, Microsoft Excel X for Mac, or Microsoft PowerPoint X for Mac, the program stops responding and just stays that way.  I read it could be a Norton Security thing, but I don’t have that.

It is annoying as I have to force quit the programs.

Thanks
