Sometimes it is handy to have Console open and have a look at what's going
on "behind the scenes" while this problem is happening. It may give us clues
as to what is causing the app to hang.

Console is located in HardDrive/Applications/Utilities/ and we need to see
stuff from console.log and system.log, not the CrashReporter one. You can
see them if you click the "Logs" button at the top left. The text in the
logs is copyable, so you can paste the relevant part into an email.
