Yes you can considering every time I repair permissions, I then have to
fix what repair permissions broke (for those who care about the details, I
run my own mail server and frequently access the system remotely using
SSH. Once in the shell (Terminal), I use Pine, a unix mail program, to
read mail. Pine has a major problem with the permissions "Repair
permissions" puts on /var/mail (where Postfix places the incoming mail) as
it breaks Pine's file locking mechanism and therefore could cause
corruption of the incoming mail file).
