Thanks, Bill. I tried the script and it works well as long as I know
the name of whom I'm looking for. I've tried various combinations of
asterisks and question marks in the hopes of getting a full listing
of the GAL, but no luck. Do you think it's possible?

Hi Nestor!
Glad you found your solution. While you can't browse the GAL via
the OWA
connection Entourage does have a way of letting you search the GAL
using
AppleScript. Have a look at this script and see if it meets your needs

Hope this helps! bill

Hi Bill:
Apparently being able to read instructions is critical to success.
Once I held down the Control, I did see the list. Turns out I was
also mistyping the OWA string. I can now see the calendar times for
everyone in the "Scheduling" tab. Thanks for your help. Next
trick: getting LDAP to work so that I can see the GAL
addressees.... ;-)

Hi Nestor!
If you're going to use the OWA string you'll need to make sure
you're also
selecting the SSL option too.
But try finding the server in Outlook again. You need to be holding
the
Control key as you right-click. Don't just right-click. And you're
looking
for the status command.
Using IMAP won't have an effect on you connecting if you're
connecting as an
Exchange client.
Good luck! bill

I tried your suggestions. I was able to see the public folders
using
OWA, but using the exact same url string in the Entourage Advanced
options yielded the same error message that the folders couldn't be
accessed. As a side note, I never got a server list when right-
clicking on the Outlook icon. There was a list of other
choices, but
no server list.
I don't know if it makes a difference, but the Outlook users access
our Exchange server using RPC/HTTP. I opened up IMAP on the
Exchange
so that I could access it via Entourage. Would that have an
effect?
Thanks

Hi Nestor!
Are you sure you have the correct public folders server? If you
have access
to Outlook for Windows you can verify your setting by doing this:
1. Launch Outlook for Windows. Connect to your account if
necessary.
2. In the System Tray in your Start bar near the clock, you'll
see the
Outlook icon. Hold the Control key while you right-click the icon.
You'll
find your servers listed under the status command.
If you're using your OWA address instead of the name of an
internal
server
then add the "/public" to the end of your OWA address and use that
for your
public folder server address. This is slower than connecting
directly to
your public folder server, so I recommend this only while
connecting from
the Internet, not from within your company network.
Hope this helps! bill

I get
an error message from Entourage simply stating that it can't
connect
to the public folders. My url string ends with "/Public/" which
apparently works fine with OWA. Any thoughts?

Are you able to view public folders on the server successfully?
Free/busy
information is usually retrieved from the public folders server.
You can
find your settings for that server in Tools > Accounts / your
Exchange
account under the "Advanced" tab. Some users have found that it
works if
they add /public to the end of the public folders server.
You can read more tips concerning the public folders server

When creating an invitation in Entourage, it is my

calendar. I checked all of the preferences areas to no avail
and all
of the Exchange-related options are selected in my account
preferences (LDAP, etc.)
Any thoughts?
