If you attempt to transfer one, but the file can't be copied because of I/O problems, it seems you can get stuck and have to guess at why. It would be helpful if the Setup Assistant didn't just fail silently. If you can still open Entourage 2004, you could export your mail and then run Entourage 2008 and tell the Setup Assistant not to transfer your existing Office Identity, instead creating a new one from scratch.
