Stuart:

Was your EOS3 improperly exposing the majority of your pictures?  Is this
why you are now depending primarily on the L508 for proper settings?

My situation is exactly the opposite.  I find that I trust the reading given
by my 1V more than the reading that I get with my L508 even in incident
mode.  The readings and settings  from my 1V are deadly accurate!  Only in
very unusual situations do I now use the L508.
