My situation is exactly the opposite. I find that I trust the reading given
by my 1V more than the reading that I get with my L508 even in incident
mode. The readings and settings from my 1V are deadly accurate! Only in
very unusual situations do I now use the L508.

Very accurate exceot when you are taking pictures in the snow you will still
need
to use your brain and compensate +1 or so. I used both the EOS-3 and 1V in
Alaksa
and can tell you they are not accrate for snow and ice, just like any other
reflective meter, matrix or otherwise. For that situation, an incident is
best.
