Hello Bruce,
Although I do not own the TS-E and can't give you first hand information, I
would choose it because of it's ability to give you more depth of field.
For example flowers in the foreground and mountains in the background -
tricky situation to get everything sharp. You'll need a small aperture but
sacrifice sharpness as lenses don't operate at their best at f/22.
If you include barnes or trees it is even more interesting to use a shift
lens as you often get converging lines.
Of course the 24 1.4L is easier to handle but with the TS-E you get
additional possibilities.
