Most people shooting the tricky situation is to use TS-E. To the unfortunate ones
without TS-E lenses, try tilt your viewing angle and use a small aperture. i.e F16.
Since the lenses is tilt, the DOF is at an angle which may bring the distance mountain
clearer.
I use camera allows tilt for perspective control, mostly. Happy shooting.
