Hi Bruce.
I often rent the Canon EF TS-E 24 and TS-E 90 lenses and really adore them.
The 24 is outstanding for providing you with landscape perspectives not
otherwise attainable. As an alternative to describing it, I urge you to find
a shop from which to rent one for the weekend, then go out and play with it.
I don't find a problem with manual focus.
While not exhaustive, I have a list of pro shops that rent in the U.S. I'm
not sure if it's useful to you, because I don't know where you are located.
