OK - looked further into this. As I noted in my previous post,
Manfrotto (Italy) and Bogen (USA) are separate companies. Manfrotto
distribute their products in the US through Bogen for historical
reasons. However, in 1993 Bogen was bought by the same parent company
that owns Manfrotto and Gitzo (France). So, while they're run as
separate firms, they're all subsidiaries of the Vitec Group (UK).
