Take a closer look at Manfrotto 190B with 308RC ball head. This combo
is rather sturdy and professional but not to heavy. Although you might
have to bow a little if you do not want to extend center column
(reversible for macro work) and you are not a short guy :-). I have
also purchased with it a carring strap which makes the life much
easier (however 190B when not extended is short enaugh to put under a
cover straps of a big photo bag).
