I added a 50E to my 1000F, and since then the 50E was
my main body... I seldom use the 1000F anymore, but
it's still as capable as it was. BTW, I opted the 50E
mainly for the 3 AF points, much more accurate off
center flash metering when combined with off center AF
points, and the posibility of using AA instead of
2CR5. I think I've saved hundreds if not thousand in
this area. So if the Elan 7/30 is more capable
compare to the 50E, then I think the above reasons
would also be applicable for Julian. However, as
pointed by Julian, I like the partial metering button
on the 1000 too. Just that the ambient light
metering(evaluative) on the 50E is much more accurate
compare to the 1000, so it reduced the need for
partial metering.
