Personally, I would agree with Fred on this, although I might go with the 24/2.8
instead of the 20 mm--but that's entirely a matter of personal preference. I
think you will be pleasantly surprised by the outstanding results you can
achieve with the 200/2.8L. BTW, if you do get the 200, if you ever use a tripod
the accessory tripod collar, while perhaps a bit overpriced, is well worth
having. And if you stick a 25 mm extension tube on the 200 you get a decent
macro lens; plus, it makes a fine 280/4 when used with the 1.4x extender. Come
to think of it, you might be hard-pressed to find a more versatile
fixed-focal-length lens, and *very* hard-pressed to find a zoom lens that can
match its optical performance. I might even go so far as to say that anyone who
uses a telephoto lens on a regular basis should own this lens!
