Why don't you get a Kodak DCS-520 then? It is the same as a Canon D2000 but
political differences mean different levels of support! Bizarre,
understandable and annoying! If you are using the camera for work purposes
and you have already identified some dissatisfaction with your current
modus operandi you best strike while the iron is hot. By the time the 'new
Canon' is announced there'll be rumours of a new 'Nikon' and some
200megapixel hype-to-launch camera from some unknown camera maker.
You should expect to write off your camera - especially in a fast -changing
marketplace as is digital photography - in a couple of years if not sooner.
Harsh as it is, your film camera will probably continue to churn out the
same results for years and years. Jumping professionally on the digital
camera bandwaggon is currently a very expensive task but you sort of have
to get playing to get to see the direction. IMHO, of course.
I won't comment on the Canon/Nikkon format wars:)

Ok. I guess I'm just tired of shooting film as a PJ, a fact that keeps me
scanning until all hours of the night and on weekends while competitors
play.
