Of all people - I feel I must write first then quote - how could I?

I hate EOS flash threads. Inquirers don't seem to know how to ask
questions. Responders seldom know how to express the right answer
answer. I, for one can not.

"Still Confused" is the prevailing situation.

Maybe Dave Herzstein should be designated as the only one to reply :-)

Sounds like a pretty good answer to me - provided that one's aim is
balanced and appropriate ambient exposure as well as controlled flash
exposure of the main
subject.

If your mind is made up. why ask questions (You invited that, but I'll
add a smily) :-)

Then all you need is manual exposure. You get to choose both - It's
either ambient
exposure be damned, or you can determine ambient exposure and work
things out from there.

Have you ever checked background (ambient) exposure in such cases.

If you think switching systems is the answer to the conundrum in your
message, be warned. It could be your thoughts are a matter of "often
wrong - seldom in
doubt."

I apologize for being a bit "porky," but these "flash threads" do that
to me.
