I also was shooting the eclipse - south of Munich in Germany, we had 
a clear sky - and I was standing in the cold for one hour. The 
battery of my EOS 5 (which was already used for some rolls of film, 
also in cold weather) was dead after the shooting! I shot one film 
and some frames on a second one (both fuji sensia II 100)

P.S.: Dieter, a down jacket works great in such low temperatures. And 
always wear a hat or a balaclava, as your body loses almost 1/3 of 
his temperature via the head.
