Hi all:
I just got my EOS D30 and I'm about as excited as a kid in a toy store. I'm
just getting to know this thing, but the first few grab shots around the
office look nice.
I like the camera's user interface. I find it very easy to view and discard
photos. The zoom feature is pretty cool, too.
The body feels solid and it nice to hold. But I'd like to find some sort of
cover for the LCD panel. The shutter sound is so quiet.
At first glance, the built-in flash seems to be overpowering the foreground
(In P mode). Indoor shots without flash seem much nicer. I wonder if there's
any way to diffuse the on-camera flash.
The focus, so far, isn't up to par of the EOS 3, but isn't bad.
I have a few questions:
-- Are there generic (cheaper, better) batteries available for this camera?
-- Is there such a thing as a battery pack that can be filled with AAs or
other common batteries (like the units made for cell phones)?
-- If I buy the dual battery grip, will both batteries be used at once, and
will using them both double the life of the charge?
-- Is there an effective way to use my 540EZ until I can afford to sell it
(along with my like-new EOS 3) and buy a 550EX?
-- I understand lens magnification is about 1.6x, but is what I see in the
viewfinder what I will get in the image? My horizontal shots appear to be
"off" to the right.
-- Any suggestions on "wide" angle lenses for this body (I guess that means
17mm or less)?
I'm sure I'll have more.
Anyone interested in my like-new 540EZ and EOS 3 (boxes, cases, caps,
warranty cards, etc.) may contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Thanks for any help provided.
