My suggestions are to bite the bullet and buy the US model EF 20-35. For a
few dollars more you get an international warranty and a great zoom lens. I
think the 20mm is nice, but oh how lovely it is to zoom to frame your shot.
Plus using it at 35mm means you can do lots more like people pictures, etc.
Get the lens hood while you're at it.
