Hi!

We've now taken the first step towards the age of digital photography - my
wife just got a Canon Digital Ixus. No, it's not an EOS, but still it has
prowen to be lot's of fun! I don't know about the image quality yet, as
I've not been ably to transfer the images to my computer, or haven't
gotten any prints from any labs. Later on, I will do tests to see if the
2.1 mega pixel Ixus will be able to replace 35mm point-and-shoot camera in
10x15 cm (4x6") photos.

But getting into some EOS content... the few days experience with the
digital camera has really showed me some very nice sides of digital
photography. Mainly, the results are there immediately. No more guessing
if I got that shot (ok, is harder do to beging with with the Digital Ixus,
as the shutter lag is quite considerable compared to any EOS). Was the
lighting ok? Exposure? Was the shutter speed ok, for that panning shot
(not with the Ixus of course)? I just can't wait to get a digital EOS!!!

Actually I can. I will wait untill I can get a camera with the
capabilities of EOS 3 in a digital camera. An EOS D3 if you wish. That's
the construction and handling, AF performance, plus of course the digital
stuff: at least 3000x2000 pixels in a sensor with the size of 35mm film
(to retain the lenses). And all that with resonable price (i.e. comparable
to what EOS 3 was). Untill then, I will invest in the lenses and flashes.
BTW, one interesting road for (top) Canon digital EOS cameras would be the
way of Hasselblad. Have you seen their DFinity?
(http://www.hasselblad.se/press/detail.cgi?new/969464191.txt) Takes EOS
lenses, and has 3 CMOS sensors - one for each color!! THAT, is the way to
go for good quality!! Now, Canon just make that with EOS 3 body, AF and
controls! You already have the lenses! :-)

Best regards,
        Hugo.
