I think you got my point, but... just to comment on your reply, of course
it would lead to better photos in some ways. That thing just popped into
my mind because I had just gotten back a film where a shot (that was not
really that important) was hugely underexposed. That was my mistake as I
should have seen the situation better. But I didn't. And now it left me
thinking about how much exactly should I have corrected the exposure? If I
had used AEB, I would have known :-) But shooting every photo with AEB
without thinking what you are doing would be stupid - I agree there. It
was not the best example. :-)
