I think this is excellent advice. I've been all hot and bothered
trying to decide what standard lenses to replace my 28-90 "consumer
zoom" (conzoomer??) lens with - which really performs quite well under
certain circumstances, BTW - and what I'm going to do is go out and
shoot an entire roll or three of film with the zoom taped at 50mm and
35mm to see how it feels and what I get. I could do the same with the
75-300, except I *know* I want longer and faster! ;-)
