Hi Bob!
Canon's wired remote (RS-60E3 at least) does nothing more than closes wiring
circle.
So as I see it we are talking connecting two power sources.
That sounds dangerous to me. But than again I'm no electronic expert.
If nothing else contact Canon, they should be able to help you.
