Yes, having a 420EX, I'm planning to get a 550EX as my "second" flash.
For the time being I wanted to be able to use my 420EX off-camera
solo, (in a bracket, etc) and be able to expand later asd use *it* as
the slave, although its lack of manual power override is a limitation.
If I end up with a 550EX/420EX set-up or even a two 550EX/ one 420EX
set-up I'm not sure what i will find, but it seems like I would have
more direct control with a wired set up. I could be wrong! Frankly
I'm still a little confused by the problems I read about with the
E-TTL pre-flash triggering slaves, and will probably just have to
cross that bridge when I come to it.
