Here are the results of my tests, which consisted of having 12 8x12 prints made from my negatives. I took three different pictures with each lens, wide open and at f/8, with a tripod, as follows: 20/2.8 at f/2.8 and f/8. 20-35/3.5-4.5 (at the 20mm setting) at f/3.5 and f/8. Wide open, the 20-35 beats the 20mm, but at f/8 the 20mm beats the 20-35, in contrast and sharpness.
