Hi Gerard,
The Elan 7E and 550EX combination will not allow HS and 2nd curtain
flash to be active at the same time.
The 550EX ignores the CF6=1 setting on the Elan 7E. It also ignores
any flash exposure compensation dialled on the 7E. To have either,
I have to set them specifically on the 550EX. This is contrary
to the Elan 7E manual :-(
I don't know about any other EOS bodies, but the D30 may also behave
not exactly according to the manual.
