No...I use a 100-400L, which is heavier than the 28-70L, on my 7E and I
don't noticed any squeaking or creaking.

I do use the BP-300, and it does provide a better grip but I don't see how
that would affect the lens mount. Maybe you should have your camera looked
at, something maybe need tightened up? Good luck!
