Hi Ken and Billy,

Mine does that too (but only for the first push after
turning the dial to OFF).

It gets even scarier if you measure the current drain on
EOS cameras with command turned off and when various buttons
are pushed!

That's the reason that I converted the ENABLE-DISABLE switch
on the BP50 into a power ON-OFF switch for my camera.  And
I intend to do that for the BP300 once I can think of a way.
