Basically I absolutely agree with that. Nevertheless,
I hardly do use a lens hood although I do own them. My
experience is that with my hand or a nootebook I can
achieve a better 'lens hood' with my zoom lenses then
with the actual lens hood. Of course, if you use your
camera handheld it is much easier to use the lens hood
which really can improve image quality A LOT.
