Could somebody give me a definition of what "bokeh" is??

Funny word, no translation in my dictionary :-)

-------------------------------------------------------

It is a Japanese coined phrase that describes the out of focus areas of a
photograph when using a lens.
Generally, a rounder aperture will produce better out of focus backgrouds
than an octagonal shaped aperture.
Lenses with good bokeh (pronounced bo'kay) are generally faster lenses with
rounder apertures such as Canon's L lenses.
