Marius,

I talked with a Canon rep about the EOS-5 and Elan-7 thing. The way I
understood him, and it was six months ago so I hope I remember
correctly, is that the EOS-5 has two replacements, the -3 and the Elan-7
are the replacements for the -5. It depends on why you have or want the
-5 and what you are looking for in a replacement. The -5 is between the
two and neither was "meant" to replace it, exactly. The answer as I
remember it is if you have a -5 and are changing bodies and don't need
all of the -3's features, buy the Elan-7. If you want all that the -3
can do, you buy it. It wasn't a very clear explanation six months ago,
and I'm sure I didn't write it the way it was told to me back in
December.

I have an A2e that was converted to a -5 and after the discussion I
decided to invest in L glass for a while and keep my -5.
