Thanks a lot for you comment. Does anywhone know if this only happens with canon cameras (the only cameras I've ever owned)? Do other manufacturers (Nikon, Pentax, Minolta, etc...) take a different approach? By the way, only know did I realise that the 50/1.8 is 2/3 stop "darker" the the 50/1.4 and not 1/2 stop as I thought it was. Well, I guess you must learn 'till you die and this groups is proving top be a great "school"!
