As far as I'm concerned, I knew I didn't want Minolta (hated the Maxxum
800, it feels like a toy), and the Pentax didn't offer a  wide choice of
lenses. All was left (in my price range) was Nikon and Canon. Canon had IS
and USM, things that Nikon still haven't fully  implemented. The choice
was easy, especially since all Canon bodies work alike: all the Pro bodies
have the same controls and all the others have similar controls. Excellent
ergonomics...

That's what motivated my choice...
