Well, in my case I originally purchased the Eos 650 back in 86/87 when it
was 1st released.
I had been thinking about replacing my then current camera [ Ricoh XRP ]
with an auto focus body
ever since Minolta had released the 1st successful AF system. The thing that
swung it for me was the fact
that EOS was the only system with the motor in the lens & therefore
specifically matched to that lens.
The Minolta & Nikon's had a 'one motor works all' fitted within the body, in
fact they still do.
I also liked the curved styling of the EOS bodies also, as against the
angular bodies available from
the opposition.
I'm very happy with my choice of system. :)
