Dave,

I'm sorry.  I meant sharpness and contrast.  I used the wrong word.  The
MTF graph of the 100-400 @ 300 is the same as the 300 IS at the same f
stop.  In other words, the resulting images created by each lens should
be practically indistinguishable from the other.
