Yes, I've done that before. Mount the 2x behind the lens,
the 1.4x at the camera and the 12mm extention tube in
between.
I don't use this combo very much these days - I have a
1000/10 maksutov reflector lens which is sharper (and
brighter) than the 1120/16 (400 5.6 + 2x + 1.4x) setup - and
I can still use the 2x, giving me a fairly decent 2000/20 -
great for solar and lunar photography.
