As I'm sure has already been mentioned, the only 'Mk.II' is the IS version. I bought a very well-used example of a 'Mk.I' and have never regretted it. It looks rather sad but its as sharp as a very sharp thing and gets a lot of use. Cost me 1600 UKP from LCE I think. Its my most-used lens.
