This is a 'known' issue that other cameras share (my 50e, for example). If you look closely, the cap lost the two mini-micro-ultrasmall hooks that keep it on place. I fixed the 50E with a small rolled piece of paper pushed in the eye piece groove on the camera, then I pushed the cup on it. I've heard from others that use a match for the same operation. I wouldn't use crazy glue as you might need to remove it in the future (to use the eye-piece cover on the strap, angle finder B/C, etc...) Eliminating it isn't an option neither as the light coming through the side will badly affect the eye-control feature.
