Subject: EOS Camera problem?

Hello.

I am just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this before. I
have started getting prints back from my lab and they have a black edge
along the top of the print starting about the middle of the print and
getting slightly thicker as it moves to the right. Sometimes it is across
the entire top and sometimes it does not exist. I am trying to determine
if I have a camera problem or a lab problem.

Is this a new problem? You should have a good look at the negative to see if the
problem is also visible, I have seen the black bar on the top or bottom edge because
the cutting section of the print machine is mis-aligned.

With the "blank" frames, maybe you had some exposure setting wrong to cause extreme
under-exposure or over-exposure? Or maybe it's the (possible) incompatibility with
the 3rd party flash, not familiar with the Speedtron unit you mentioned, I would
assume you need it for the power output? Otherwise you maybe better off just to get
the E-TTL 550EX and ST-E2 wireless controller.

Regards,

Ken
