Hi Mike, A very important issue with having a backup body is that the interface is the same as you use on your main body. If you need to grab it and keep shooting you must be totally familiar with the controls and not stuffing around trying to remember how some function works on the different body. I have seen this catch people out during photo shoots. I use the 3 as a back up for the 1v for this reason. I would suggest in your case the best backup by far would be another 3. Maybe a second hand unit?
