unfortunately, yes, I have had a simular experience. When my shutter blew. all 3 times. first time, leaf across middle of opening.
2nd time, one on edge that would move somewhat (letting me keep working for part of day). 3rd time: leafs would not open until 2-3 frames into a burst. Look at your shutter and see if it all correct. Pray Canon does a better job repairing your shutter than they did mine. 1st one had 125K frames. 2nd had 43K. 3rd had 300. (Three HUNDRED). BTW, it was on my 520, which uses the 1N shutter.
